A University Outfit.

I haven't done a post in a while! I know i'm sorry i'm currently stuck between exams and revision but to make up for it, I thought I'd show you an outfit I've been wearing to university. I will inshaAllah be blogging more regularly in the next few weeks once all my exams are over.

Uni-days are usually a busy day for me because I have usually have a full day of lectures. Sometimes I like dressing more professional to motivate myself to work harder. Does anyone else feel like dressing in a certain style sets the tone for the day?

I'm really into wearing monochrome colours when trying to achieve a more studious look because it keeps everything every smooth and sleek. I'm currently loving layering cropped jumpers over my abaya because its a great way to keep warm. I've noticed that wearing cropped tops over abayas gives and illusion of having a longer legs.

You can shop a similar look here:

I'll see you sisters in the next post insha'Allah. In the meanwhile you can check out my previous posts.

I'm back on the 25th May

Muslimah Pins Review

This post is actually a repost from almost two years ago, after I had changed my blog layout etc... this post got corrupted and its images had disappeared. I thought not only would I re-upload it with new images but I thought it would be nice to do a short updated review too. I even tried this new hijab style to suit my hijab pin, what do you girls think?

Original Review from: 1st August 2013
Today's Post is a review of Muslimah Pins' Brown and Gold princess headchain. After talking to the sister last Friday the headchain arrived swiftly this Wednesday, I was so surprised at how fast the delivery was. When I first opened the bubble-post envelope, the headchain was wrapped in the cutest vintage inspired tissue paper, I instantly fell in love!
The overall care taken by the sister to make this handcrafted headchain is superb. I have pulled and tugged at the chain and its still in its perfect condition, this makes it great for a clumsy hijabi like me!

What I like the most is the overall simplicity of the design. It allows you to play around with bolder prints and embroidery on your outfit, whilst still capturing the beauty of your hijab. I was so happy to see that the gems were small and intricate, which give it a classy and casual feel! This makes it perfect to not only style with more dressy outfits but also more casual everyday outfits.

Updated review: 22nd June 2015
Almost two years later and it's still a cherished place in my jewellery box. I've almost worn it every Eid since then mixing and matching it with my ever growing collection of gold themed Eid dresses. As you can see from the picture despite me being a person who tends not to look after my jewellery this piece has survived my cruel ways. Me personally I would say this has to be described as a jewellery essential.

I certainly feel like a princess in this beautiful brown and gold princess headchain. Make sure to give the sister some love by liking her Facebook page!

An interview with Idil from The Modest Doll

What Idil is wearing: check out her full outfit by clicking the link to her blog over here.

I first met Idil when we both attended a blogger meet up organised by the lovely sister from Al-Madina Hijabs. Can I just say Idil is the cutest person ever and certainly lives up to her blog name...  The Modest Doll, a cute hijab based Fashion blog that explores her well balanced life as both a modest dresser and a student here in London. So without further ado lets get on with the interview!

What made you want to start your blog?
Well, after a lot of thinking I had the idea to share my style ootd's on an official page. I was also receiving a lot of compliments on my personal style, that was probably my main reason. It has been more than a year since I have started my blog.

Do you have any specific goals for the rest of this year?
My aim is to start a vlog channel this summer. But I am not so sure yet.

Who was your first style icon?
Mary- Kate & Ashley Olsen :) I always used to find them so cool!

What's the one wardrobe essential you can't live without?
This is a hard one. Umm, a simple plan long shirt? I love cardigans as well. However, I am currently crushing over those nice designed open-front abayas. So in love!

When you can't think of anything to wear, what's your go-to outfit?
Probably a plain kimono and a t-shirt underneath. Flats (plimsolls shoes), a small bag and a necklace!

What is the biggest difference in your life post-blogging?
I realised that I have to be more organised.  Uni and blogging can be quite difficult at times but it's manageable! But I do enjoy my life as a blogger and I can not wait to see what the future brings!

Who takes the majority of your photos?
My sisters.

What is the best advice you've ever received?
I have received so many nice advices in my life and it's seriously super hard to decide. However, I would say my most  favourite advice I received was " To always stay humble in life".

I hope you enjoyed this post and be sure to visit the lovely Idil over at her blog The Modest Doll. So what other bloggers do you hope to see an interview with, leave a comment below!
